Community Lunch is one of the most cherished traditions at the Prithvi Spiritual Centre. Inspired by the age-old Indian practice of Langar and Bhandara — the communal sharing of food as an act of seva (selfless service) — Prithvi Foundation organizes regular community meals that bring together villagers, devotees, and visitors in a spirit of equality and togetherness.
These meals are prepared with care by volunteers and community members, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Everyone sits together and shares the same food, regardless of background, age, or social standing — embodying the principle that in the eyes of the divine, all are equal.
Community Lunches are typically organized after major spiritual events, festivals, and on other occasions that bring the community together. They serve not only as a means of nourishment but also as a powerful expression of communal harmony, generosity, and the joy of sharing.
Through this initiative, Prithvi Foundation strengthens the bonds of fellowship within the community, ensuring that no one goes hungry and that the spirit of collective care and compassion continues to flourish in the villages of Tehri Garhwal.
